A few of us at Allure are back at work after three straight days of being stuck in our apartments, or our friends' apartments, while riding out Hurricane Sandy. What did we do with all that time on our hands? There was a lot of movie watching, card game playing, eating of emergency snacks, closet cleaning, drinking, and, in my case, organizing my makeup collection. My goal? To weed out the unnecessary items (products I rarely use, shades that are basically identical) and storing things in a way that makes finding exactly what I need quick and easy. My collection has quickly reached hoarder-level status, so to get a better look at what I was dealing with, I laid everything out on the living room floor and got to work.
